Shubman Gill has already packed an impressive collection of records into his career, and the India captain has another milestone to celebrate as he turns 27 today. As Gill begins his 27th year, here are 10 standout records that underline his remarkable journey so far. Gill holds the record for being the fastest Indian to reach 1,000, 2,000 and 3,000 ODI runs. He reached 1,000 runs in 19 innings, 2,000 in 38 innings and 3,000 in 62 innings. His 38-innings mark for 2,000 ODI runs is also the fastest by any batter in the history of the format. Gill became the youngest player to score an ODI double century when he smashed an unbeaten 208 off 149 balls against New Zealand in January 2023. He was only 23 years and 132 days old at the time, producing one of the most memorable innings of his young international career. He produced a sensational 129 off just 60 balls for Gujarat Titans against Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2 during the 2023 season, powering his side to a commanding victory. Gill became the youngest batter to reach 4,000 runs in IPL history. He achieved the feat during the 2026 season at the age of 26 years and 216 days. Gill produced a historic performance during India’s tour of England, scoring 269 and 161 in the Edgbaston Test. His combined tally of 430 runs is the highest aggregate by an Indian batter in a single Test match.
