Rockstar Games has finally shown the world what Grand Theft Auto 6 looks like in action, and the excitement amongst the community is at an all-time high. The GTA 6 Extended Look premiered on Netflix on August 27, 2026, and it delivered on every promise. Rockstar dropped 26 minutes of GTA 6 gameplay on Netflix, showing off Vice City, dual protagonists Jason and Lucia, a massive map, and no microtransactions. The presentation was so popular that the GTA 6 Netflix Extended Look broke Netflix upon release. In the section below, we break down everything new revealed in the GTA 6 Extended Look. GTA 6 Extended Look provided a deep-dive into the game’s various aspects, with the core focus being the protagonists Jason and Lucia. Listed below are further specifics about everything revealed in the GTA 6 Extended Look: The Extended Look shows off a lot of gameplay footage featuring the two protagonists: Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. Rob Nelson of Rockstar North estimated that his own playthrough took about 80 hours, mostly concentrating on the main story and optional items related to it. Another estimate suggests that Leonida may have over 11 times as many people as Grand Theft Auto 5. Fans also received a bird’s-eye view of the GTA 6 map as the game switched between Lucia and Jason. GTA 6 continues the trend from Red Dead Redemption 2 by allowing Jason and Lucia to engage with any NPC in their field of view. The UI is fairly similar to that of RDR 2, and the characters can do actions like greeting people. This shows that NPCs in GTA 6 will not simply stand around and watch you commit crimes. GTA 6 includes a Criminal Profile system that is comparable to RDR 2’s honor system but more intricate. Five stars is no longer the highest wanted level, and GTA 6 now goes up to six stars. Unlike the previous GTA games, where you just press a button and your character hijacks a car, GTA 6 requires some effort. GTA 6 also has a deadeye-like bullet-time ability, which is more similar to what John Marston and Arthur Morgan used in the Red Dead universe.

Because vice City’s roadways are narrower and more congested, delivering vehicles in excellent condition will be more difficult.

Vice City is around twice as large as the Los Santos from Grand Theft Auto V, according to reports. Interestingly, the UI includes a “study” option, which could be a hint at a broader notebook to keep track of all the flora and wildlife they see in Vice City. It showcased a variety of features, alongside some important characters that will be a part of the storyline. As part of the same, they were seen interacting with characters ranging from street-level drug dealers and veteran bank robbers to semi-retired drug runners. It also highlighted simple day-to-day interactions between the couple, such as holding hands, and offers a glimpse at some of the activities available when you are not on a mission. In one scene from the extended look, Lucia is seated in the passenger seat as Jason drives a getaway car. Then, the point of view changes, and in the middle of the operation, you take on the role of Lucia, who is firing at a target that is pursuing them. With its structures, inhabitants, and general ambiance all reflecting the local way of life, each area will seem unique. One moment, players are traveling through neon-lit urban streets; the next, they are traversing alligator marshes or driving through rural settlements far apart from urban chaos. Throughout the game, Florida’s distinct culture appears to serve as a significant source of inspiration. Viral internet characters, beach parties, wildlife, and weird local news events all appear to have an impact on the world Rockstar is developing. The driving assistant mini-map also depicts a 3D reconstruction of the buildings and street, while the pause screen employs satellite imagery rather than the typical street-and-block representation. For the first time in a GTA game, you can also pet a dog. In a particular scene from the Extended Look, a regular NPC at a jewelry store defends himself against Lucia during a theft. Additionally, the crowds appear larger and more reactive than in prior Rockstar games, contributing to a more immersive world. Triggering a crime while no one is there does not automatically earn you a star. Instead, an NPC must witness it and report it on their phone before cops can begin hunting you down. It tracks behavioral trends rather than categorizing actions as good or evil. Repeatedly engaging in pointless violence or raising a commotion may have a bad impact on your Criminal Profile, alter how people react to Jason and Lucia, and influence plot outcomes. Crimes committed during story missions have no effect on your criminal profile. You will also be able to store clothes and weapons in cars, allowing you to change your look as cops start searching for you. When attempting to perform the particular action near an automobile, a fast time event will appear. If you successfully solve it, Jason or Lucia will be able to hijack the car. Certain cars have powerful GPS trackers that automatically notify their whereabouts to the authorities. Players may need to maintain a fast pace to avoid a tracker’s signal or ditch the vehicle before authorities arrive. There are also several methods to exit missions, and you may require money to continue the story in some circumstances. The Extended Look features scuba diving, parachute jumping, gym workouts, kayaking, racing, and mini golf. You can also base jump from high spots in Vice City. Other than that, there are activities like Jason can play basketball outside his house, street races, and more. Lucia and Jason can drink and dance, and clubbing will play a role in some of the game’s missions. Phil Collins is playing in the elevator, confirming his return to the franchise.
