You can pre-load GTA 6 starting from November 12, 2026 (Image via Rockstar Games)
GTA 6 arrives on November 19, 2026, but you will not have to wait until launch day to start downloading. Rockstar Games has confirmed that pre-loading begins on November 12, 2026, giving players a full week to get the install out of the way. Essentially, pre-loading the game will keep you ready to directly hop onto the experience once it releases for your country. In the section below, we take a look at when the pre-load starts in your region, which platforms are supported, and what to prepare.
Rockstar’s support page says pre-load begins at local midnight on November 12. Boxes are set to be available from November 12, but if yours is not shipped, you can’t pre-load until it arrives and you redeem the code. Digital pre-orders can start downloading as soon as the window opens. The physical edition is also covered, though not with a disc: the box contains a download code, and redeeming it lets you pre-load too.

Additionally, the exact unlock time on November 19 hasn’t been announced either, though some store listings reportedly show a midnight start. With a full week of runway, the main thing to do is mark November 12 on your calendar and keep an eye on Rockstar’s channels for the download size. Because the start is “local midnight,” the pre-load goes live at 12:00 AM in each region’s own time zone, on November 12. That means it unlocks first in Oceania and last in North America. The table below shows the local start and the equivalent in UTC. It is worth noting that two details remain unconfirmed. Rockstar hasn’t published the game’s download size, so it’s hard to know how much storage to free up. Get the latest Sports News and Live updates. Download the TOI app.
