Bronny heads into camp with a guaranteed $2.3 million contract, nine new teammates and a Christmas game against his father already on the calendar. His best postseason night came in Game 4 against the Houston Rockets, a 115-96 loss. Bronny played a playoff career-high 15 minutes and finished with five points, two rebounds and four assists on 2-of-5 shooting.
Los Angeles still won the series in five games. He also has a clear idea of what he wants this season to prove. Together, they went on to achieve many NBA records, including creating history as the first active father-son duo to play and share the court together.
The 21-year-old guard added that LeBron knows he wants to make a name for himself and keep growing as a player. The Lakers are starting their first season without LeBron since 2017-18, and the roster around Bronny has changed a lot.
He said the pair rarely go on business. Bronny said he is happy for LeBron and curious to see how Philadelphia’s season goes. He pointed out that LeBron is his real first name, and he said proving himself as Bronny is what gets him out of bed each day. “I’m excited for the experience, to experience something different,” he told Spectrum SportsNet, according to Lake Show Life. He called it a little sad and said he learned plenty from playing beside LeBron. “I’m coming in aggressive, playing smart, playing my game,” Bronny said. The third-year coach recently told ESPN LA that Bronny is a good player and that the staff is excited to coach him this year.
Not much, by Bronny’s own account. Then he boiled the situation down to one line about careers, “He’s got his own path, and I got my own. He is also looking forward to the first meeting between the teams, on Christmas in Los Angeles. The staff and his teammates are part of the curiosity too. Lakers star Luka Doncic felt the exit in his own way. He talks with Lakers newcomer Collin Sexton every day, hoping to borrow the veteran’s drive on both ends of the floor. A team trip to Slovenia this offseason, at Doncic’s invitation, gave him extra time with the group. Redick has liked what he sees.
