What has Curry won in 17 NBA seasons?
Curry has four NBA titles, from 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2022, and was Finals MVP in the last of them. He won two league MVP awards, and the 2016 one was the only unanimous vote in league history. He is a 12-time All-Star with 11 All-NBA selections and two scoring titles. Curry has made 4,275 career threes, the most ever, and holds the single-season record of 402 from 2015-16, the year Golden State went 73-9. His career free-throw rate of 91.3% is the best on record among qualified shooters. Away from the NBA, Curry added two FIBA World Cup golds and a 2024 Olympic gold.
Two quick threes later, Queensway won by six. the family spent a year there, and Curry attended tiny Queensway Christian College as an eighth grader While Dell Curry finished his NBA career with the Raptors. Trailing by six late against a bigger city school, coach James Lackey planned a talk about losing well. Curry, who barely spoke in huddles, cut in: “We’re not losing this game. Give me the ball. The résumé backs up the underdog story. The shooting marks are the loudest.
The switch showed up even earlier, in Toronto.

In the state title game of his senior year, Greensboro Day put 6-foot-6 junior Johnny Thomas on him. Because once Curry settled into the half-court set, the game was over, anthony Morrow, who starred at Charlotte Latin and has faced Curry since they were kids, said teams sprang double teams as the ball crossed half court,.
Curry finished with eight points in a loss, and Thomas said size decided that night. Opponents kept trying the same plan.
At 12, on the Charlotte Stars AAU team, teammate CJ Young was the bigger, faster, stronger player. Morrow recalled roughly 40 points in the second half, and Dell Curry told his son afterward to keep playing that way. Because the paint was too rough, in games Curry played the zone-buster, a shooter who stayed on the perimeter.
He told Sky Sports he was “undersized and didn’t really pass the eye test” when organized basketball began. Young’s father, a Stars coach, told his son to work the thin guard over in practice, so shoves, bumps and elbows became routine. Stephen Curry holds the NBA record for career three-pointers, yet nobody who watched the young guard play saw a future star. The kid was the smallest player in nearly every gym, and few colleges showed interest. Davidson made the one real offer. Seventeen seasons into his career with the Golden State Warriors, Curry has four championships and two MVP awards. Speaking to Sky Sports, the guard once pointed to one thing behind it all. It was a mindset built from years of being underestimated. The doubts began at age nine and lasted through high school. Stephen Curry traces the edge to the way people sized up a nine-year-old guard. Every gym and every roster had Curry as the smallest player, and the criticism followed from middle school through high school. The reply came later. After his freshman year at Davidson, Curry played in the Charlotte Pro-Am, where a full team went after him to build a name.
Before the NBA, Curry spent years learning how to take a hit.
