Drake Maye’s record breaking performance as he dealt with shoulder injuries
Drake Maye, the New England Patriots’ star player, had dealt with a few injuries in the last few weeks as the team has recorded a slow start to the new season.The New England Patriots lost in the first match against the Seattle Seahawks and the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 3. But the New England Patriots have managed to win in Week 2 against the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Buffalo Bills in Week 4. Ahead of the Week 5 clash against the Las Vegas Raiders, all eyes remain on Drake Maye. As per reports, Drake Maye is active and expected to start following a full week of practice participation and a strong Week 4 performance against the Buffalo Bills where he earned AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors. Since the last season, the 24 year old quarterback Drake Maye has been dealing with a brutal shoulder injury.
As per the New England Patriots’ injury report, starting cornerbacks Christian Gonzalez (shoulder) and Carlton Davis III (neck) have been sidelined, alongside reserve cornerbacks Karon Prunty and Channing Canada. Apart from that, the team has also placed wide receiver Mack Hollins (calf) and fullback Reggie Gilliam (ankle/knee) on Injured Reserve. Scrambling. Being decisive. Using his legs. Being accurate. “I’m happy for him, I’m proud of him. He deserves all the credit. However things have been, the only thing that matters is what we’re going to do the next opportunity we get. Sometimes that’s hard for everybody to understand, but I think he really took that to heart.”
The team’s head coach Mike Vrabel opened up about it as he said, “I thought he just competed today,..Whether it was a bad snap or dropping the ball — whatever it may have been — to come back and really focus on what he needed to do.
