“One Love” was a phrase Kneeland used often. For years, Prescott has written “Ask 4 Help” on that same piece of tape — a quiet, consistent reminder aimed at anyone in the stadium or watching at home who might be struggling. So when Kneeland died the same way, in the same city where the Cowboys practice, Prescott did not need to be told how to respond.
It was his way of greeting people, his sign-off, his identity in the locker room. When Prescott picked it up and put it on his wrist tape before a nationally televised game, it was not a PR move. It was personal. He has not stopped since. He already knew. “I hurt. “I hurt for Marshawn, I hurt for his family, I hurt for his girlfriend, and I hurt for every single one of my teammates. This is a pain you don’t wish upon anybody.”
