There have been rumors about how he could have aggravated his shoulder injury in the Week 3 clash against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Ahead of the Week 4 game against the Buffalo Bills, there has been a new update about the star quarterback. Drake Maye, the New England Patriots’ popular quarterback, has been dealing with a consistent shoulder injury which he had initially sustained in last season’s AFC Championship Game. In an interview, the New England Patriots’ head coach Mike Vrabel reflected on the reason why Drake Maye was listed even though he had no practice limitations.

A few hours ago, the Patriots.com reporter Evan Lazar noted in a recent report that despite Drake Maye listed as injured, the 24 year old quarterback is all set to bounce back on the field to face the Buffalo Bills. He took 100% of his usual workloads, did not miss any reps, and showed no performance limitations despite the minor shoulder bump. The New England Patriots have started the 2026 NFL season with a 1–2 record, placing them third in the AFC East division. The team ended up losing in the Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks and the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 3. For now, the focus remains on Drake Maye as he gears up to face the Week 4 clash against the Buffalo Bills. The Patriots.com reporter Evan Lazar wrote, “After popping up on the injury report due to his right shoulder this week, QB Drake Maye will not carry an injury designation into Sunday’s game – he’s good to go…” Despite his brutal shoulder injury, Drake Maye was a full participant in practice all week. To this, the team, the New England Patriots’ head coach Mike Vrabel said, “We’re just trying to follow protocol exactly how it’s given to us as it relates to the injury report…The fact that it’s a quarterback, those things get looked at very closely, so again, we want to make sure that we are transparent. Since the two time Pro Bowler practiced fully every day, he does not carry any injury designation into Sunday’s game. The team’s head coach added, “So, we listed [Maye] on the injury report. There were no limitations. He practiced full. He didn’t miss any reps. But we felt like it was best to list it just to make sure that we’re doing everything that we’re supposed to do,” he added.
