The Kansas City Current, the NWSL club closely tied to Patrick and Brittany Mahomes , reached a valuation of $275 million, highlighting the rapid growth of women’s soccer. Because her connection to the Current began years before Patrick officially joined the ownership group, for Brittany, the moment carried extra meaning.
Last year, the Mahomes family had another reason to celebrate away from the NFL spotlight.
In June 2025, Forbes ranked the Kansas City Current as the second-most valuable club in the National Women’s Soccer League. The team was valued at $275 million, only slightly behind Angel City FC at $280 million. The Current also led the league in annual revenue, generating roughly $36 million. That figure placed the Kansas City club $1 million ahead of Angel City and offered another sign of how quickly the women’s soccer market was expanding. His investments have included stakes connected to the Kansas City Royals, Sporting Kansas City and the Alpine Formula 1 team.
Because the Current had only begun playing regular-season matches in 2021, the numbers were particularly striking.

Brittany Mahomes celebrated the milestone on social media by sharing graphics highlighting the Current’s valuation and league-leading revenue. Her reaction made sense given her personal history with the club. Patrick Mahomes has built an expanding sports portfolio beyond his career with the Kansas City Chiefs.
