Tom Brady has admitted he was “kind of embarrassed” after using profanity during FOX’s broadcast of the Dallas Cowboys’ 37-20 win over the Washington Commanders. Days later, Brady addressed his language and said he plans to clean it up on future FOX broadcasts. “I’m actually kind of embarrassed,” Brady said. He said, “That swear jar is getting way too full in my house,” before adding, “My kids are getting way too happy with me filling up that jar.
The former quarterback’s comment came during a big play from Dak Prescott, when Brady described the Cowboys quarterback’s deep throw to CeeDee Lamb in unusually blunt terms. The remark quickly spread online, adding to another uncomfortable moment from the same broadcast when Brady also reacted to Jayden Daniels’ serious elbow injury with an expletive. The phrase quickly became one of the most talked-about parts of the broadcast. Brady later acknowledged that the wording was not ideal for a network NFL telecast, particularly one watched by families. “There’s a lot of grandmas at home that probably aren’t very happy with my mouth on FOX. I’m going to fix that. Sorry, I apologize. As FOX showed a replay of the injury, Brady reacted instinctively with an expletive before quickly apologizing and acknowledging that he had not expected to see such a graphic moment on the broadcast. The two incidents came during a broadcast that otherwise gave Brady plenty to discuss.
Earlier in the game, Daniels suffered a dislocated left elbow after landing awkwardly.
