Pat Mahomes Sr., the former MLB pitcher, has filed a request with a Texas court to travel to multiple states during his ongoing probation. This request is particularly significant as his son, Patrick Mahomes, is preparing for a crucial return to the field with the Kansas City Chiefs after a serious knee injury cut his 2025 season short. Mahomes Sr. hopes to support his son in person as he resumes his NFL career.
Mahomes Sr. filed a motion in the 7th District Court in Tyler seeking approval to travel for seven NFL games during the 2026 season, according to a report by KTRE 9’s Nic Huber. His proposed destinations include Kansas City, Missouri, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Cincinnati, Ohio.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero indicated that Mahomes has a chance to play against the Denver Broncos, although Reid has yet to officially confirm his status. “I would say all signs are pointing toward Patrick Mahomes being out there. If the court grants Mahomes Sr.’s request, he could have the opportunity to watch his son begin another NFL season in person. For a father who has closely followed Patrick’s career, those seven games would mean far more than simply traveling to watch football.
