He was released in February and has been working toward an NFL return.
For Kelce, though, the idea of bringing back “The Cheetah” is easy to support. “That’s out of my hands, but I know I’d love to have ‘The Cheetah’ back in this building,” Kelce told The Athletic’s Mike Silver on October 4. The Athletic’s Mike Silver reported that the team is “very interested” in bringing Hill back.
The Kansas City Chiefs may have a real opening for Tyreek Hill, and Travis Kelce is clearly open to seeing his former teammate back in the building. Kansas City is dealing with a sudden shortage at wide receiver after injuries to Tyquan Thornton and Rashee Rice. That has pushed the Chiefs to explore Hill as a possible addition, with reports saying the team has already contacted his agent. Hill is still recovering from a serious knee injury and is targeting a return in November. “He’s a brother. He’s one of those people who, when he sets his mind to something, he usually delivers. Kansas City’s interest appears more serious than simple nostalgia. NFL Network and other reports indicate the Chiefs have reached out to Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, about a potential reunion. The biggest issue is health. Hill suffered a knee dislocation and multiple ligament injuries, including a torn ACL, while playing for the Dolphins last season. Reports indicate November is the target. That timeline makes the move less about an immediate fix and more about what Hill could provide later in the season. Kansas City has already shown it can win without him. Still, adding a healthy Hill would give Mahomes a familiar deep threat and reunite two of the league’s most productive offensive pieces.
