The Kansas City Chiefs star watched from the stands as Cleveland defeated the Chicago White Sox 2-0 in Game 5 on October 10, sealing a series victory after losing the opening two games. After the Guardians fell behind in the series, they won three consecutive games to eliminate Chicago and keep their championship hopes alive. Travis Kelce had plenty to celebrate as the Cleveland Guardians completed a remarkable comeback in the American League Division Series. His message was clear: he believes Cleveland has plenty left to accomplish this postseason. Cleveland’s comeback gave Kelce another reason to show his support for his hometown team.
The team allowed just 10 runs across the final three games, while its 21-strikeout performance in Game 5 set a postseason record for a nine-inning game. The Guardians also recorded 19 strikeouts in Game 3, giving them the two highest totals in that category for a nine-inning postseason contest.
“The ALCS is ours baby, I can feel it,” he said. “The energy in Cleveland is electric right now,” he said. “It was [more than a moment money could buy],” Kelce said in an article done by MLB.com, “one of the coolest moments of my life.
Speaking after the decisive victory, Kelce made his confidence in the team clear. “Shout out to everybody. Go Guards, baby, Go Guards! Cleveland’s pitching staff also helped turn the series around.
The NFL tight end became a minority owner of the franchise earlier this season, adding another chapter to his long-standing relationship with Cleveland.
