Tyreek Hill has given NFL fans another reason to remember his Miami Dolphins days, even though the former All-Pro WR remains without a team in 2026. Their relationship started on a much brighter note when McDaniel arrived in Miami in 2022. He finished the 2022 campaign with 1,710 receiving yards, setting a Dolphins franchise record while earning first-team All-Pro honors and finishing inside the top 10 in MVP voting. Because of everything that has happened since their Miami run ended, recently, Tyreek Hill shared a Snapchat story featuring his former Miami Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel, adding a brief message that quickly caught attention. Because mcDaniel now works for the Chargers, but Hill has not signed with Los Angeles or any other NFL team, so there is no confirmed reunion between the former Dolphins stars, the possibility has naturally attracted attention. The injury ended his season, and the Dolphins later released him on Feb.
The message offers a different look at their relationship following the difficult ending in Miami, especially because Hill previously reacted to McDaniel’s firing with a GIF of comedian Kevin Hart saying “damn” after the Dolphins dismissed their head coach in January. Mike McDaniel has already moved into a new chapter with the Los Angeles Chargers While Hill continues to work toward a return. Hill and McDaniel spent four seasons together in Miami, where their partnership helped produce some of the strongest numbers of Hill’s career. Their time with the Dolphins eventually came to an end, but a recent social media post from Hill has brought their connection back into the spotlight at an interesting point for both men. The Dolphins acquired Hill from the Kansas City Chiefs in March that year, and McDaniel made him a major part of the offense from the beginning. Hill responded with two outstanding seasons. The partnership eventually ran into a difficult stretch when Hill suffered a serious knee injury during Miami’s game against the New York Jets on Sept. McDaniel joined the Chargers as their offensive coordinator on Jan. Also, Hill continues to focus on his recovery before deciding when and where he wants to return to the NFL. Rosenhaus also indicated that teams have shown interest in the veteran receiver, although Hill does not appear ready to rush the decision. That leaves the situation open rather than settled. Hill’s message does not confirm that he wants to join the Chargers, nor does it mean McDaniel is trying to bring him to Los Angeles. It does, however, show that despite the difficult ending in Miami, Hill still looks back fondly on the coach who helped him produce the best two-year stretch of his Dolphins career.
