LA Knight has spent 20 years in pro wrestling without a WWE world title. The show streams live at 6 PM ET on the ESPN App. The 20-year veteran does not hide the pressure of a wait this long.
WrestleVotes reported on Fightful Select the reaction among production staff was strong, with Reigns’ emotional range drawing the most praise.
Knight told TMZ one question keeps coming up: how has LA Knight never been world champion? Knight admitted on TMZ’s Inside the Ring podcast that this could be the last real shot. Reigns agreed to the match right away after Knight attacked him from behind following Raw in Mexico City. He made the comments ahead of Saturday’s show. The spot, in Knight’s words, is “put up or shut up, do or die. If it does not happen in New Orleans, Knight wonders where he goes from there. Backstage, the segment landed well. Reigns is usually more reserved, and some people reportedly talked about how well that version of him could work going forward.
His best chance yet arrives at Money in the Bank on Saturday in New Orleans, where Roman Reigns defends the World Heavyweight Championship.
