Dell Technologies has unveiled a new version of its XPS 13 laptop, touted as the company’s most affordable model to date. This latest offering is specifically designed for students and young professionals seeking a lightweight, premium device at a competitive price point. The announcement aligns with Dell’s commitment, established earlier this year, to broaden its appeal across various consumer price segments while preserving the hallmark design and features of the XPS brand.
Dell XPS 13 laptop: Price and availability
Dell’s new XPS 13 with Intel Core Series 3 processors will be available soon in the United States. As announced by the company, price of the XPS 13 laptop will start at $599 for eligible students aged 16 and above during the back-to-school season. For other buyers, the starting price will be $699. The company also confirmed that a version powered by Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors will be available later this summer. Dell said the new XPS 13 is the thinnest and lightest XPS laptop it has ever made. The device measures 12.7mm thick and weighs 1kg. The laptop comes with a 13-inch 2.5K touch display that covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. Standard features on all models include a backlit keyboard, Intel Wi-Fi 7, Windows Hello support, quad speakers and USB-C connectivity. Dell XPS 13 can be configured with up to 32GB of LPDDR5X memory and up to 1TB of storage.
It also supports a variable refresh rate between 30Hz and 120Hz, which Dell says helps balance smooth visuals and battery life. Dell said the laptop uses a dual-fan thermal system designed to keep it cool and quiet during heavy workloads. The Storm color option will also arrive at a later date. The chassis is made from aluminum and will be available in two finishes, Sky and Storm.
