Apple has launched next-generation Apple TV 4K, introducing: The wider industry impact

Apple has launched next-generation Apple TV 4K, introducing an overhaul centered around Siri AI, hands-free voice controls, faster processing silicon and multi-speaker home theater capabilities. The updated streaming device is powered by the company’s new A19 chip and integrates next-generation Apple Intelligence directly into the living room screen. Alongside enhanced media discovery, the hardware acts as a smart home hub featuring intelligent video summaries and local security processing.

The A19 chip is claimed to deliver up to 50% faster CPU performance and up to 2x faster GPU speeds compared to the prior model, speeding up navigation and interface animations.

Users can ask broad or detailed questions like “What Apple TV shows won at the Emmy Awards this year?” to view full-screen poster art and comedy recommendations pulled straight from the Apple TV app. The headline feature of the new Apple TV 4K is Siri AI, an entirely rebuilt assistant powered by Apple Intelligence that runs on the big screen. Under the hood, the streaming box makes a significant leap in computing power. A dedicated AV1 decoder enables high-fidelity video streams using less bandwidth.
