Canon has launched the EOS R8 Mark II in India, a 24.2MP full-frame mirrorless camera priced at Rs 1,78,995 for the body.
The successor to the EOS R8 adds in-body image stabilisation, a joystick for autofocus control and 40fps burst shooting, features previously limited to Canon’s more expensive EOS R bodies.
The EOS R8 Mark II weighs about 546g with battery and card and measures 131.4 x 90.0 x 79.7mm. Canon has also added two film-inspired colour filters, NegativeFilmtone and PositiveFilmtone, bringing the total to 16. Size is the other big change. That makes it Canon’s smallest and lightest full-frame mirrorless camera with IBIS. The design keeps Canon’s familiar pentaprism hump but gives it a cleaner mix of straight lines and curves. Creative AUTO mode appears on an EOS full-frame camera for the first time. Storage uses a single SD card slot with UHS-II support, and power comes from the LP-E17 battery with USB charging.
