Google has officially rolled out Gemini 4 Argon, its newest frontier artificial intelligence (AI) model engineered to tackle deep, complex, multi-step tasks across real-world software engineering, robotics, science and enterprise workflows. Announced earlier this year, Google says Gemini 4 Argon is designed for precision in demanding domains including coding, finance, legal research and cybersecurity.
The model ranks number one on the Vals Index, an evaluation framework that tracks model performance across core economic sectors such as taxation, legal and software development, according to Google. The model is now globally available to developers and businesses via the Gemini API, as well as to Google AI subscribers across Google Antigravity, the standalone Gemini app and AI Mode in Google Search.
To accelerate external research, Google is granting 10,000 scientists six months of free access to its highest Antigravity usage tier. Scientific discovery: Google notes that the model has aided researchers in advancing quantum error-correction algorithms, identifying solutions in nuclear fusion stellarator design, and synthesizing novel enzymes in hours.
Inside Google, the model has already helped engineering teams boost agentic code submissions by over 35% and cut code rollbacks by nearly a third, according to the company. Gemini App and Search: Available to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. In the Gemini app, Argon delivers direct responses with less hedging and fewer clichés. Google Antigravity: Google AI Ultra subscribers can deploy Argon within the agentic Antigravity desktop application, the command-line interface (CLI) and Android Studio Canary.
