Lenovo’s new ThinkAgile VX850 V4 and deployment services aim to help enterprises modernise virtualised setups for AI

Lenovo has announced a new set of infrastructure products and services for enterprises looking to modernise their virtualised setups before scaling up AI. The lineup includes the ThinkAgile VX850 V4, three tiers of deployment services, and more pre-validated configurations pairing Lenovo hardware with platforms from Microsoft, Red Hat, Nutanix and SUSE.

Lenovo has also refreshed its XClarity Controller 3 and XClarity One management tools for better visibility across hybrid environments, while its ThinkSystem Storage and ThinkAgile HCI lines get built-in cyber resilience features to help with ransomware recovery.

IDC’s Matt Eastwood, Senior Vice President of the firm’s Enterprise Infrastructure and Datacenter Group, said the approach lets organisations modernise incrementally. “Modernization is an in-place initiative; it does not require starting over,” he said. Customers can choose from Standard Deploy, Premier Deploy and Premier Deploy Plus. All three cover readiness planning and hardware installation. The Premier tiers add implementation and operational handoff support, while Premier Deploy Plus throws in extended post-deployment assistance and a one-year infrastructure health assessment. The expanded Lenovo Express Solutions, part of the Top Choice Express programme, bring validated combinations for Microsoft Hyper-V and Windows Server, Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization, Microsoft Azure Local on ThinkAgile MX V4, Nutanix Compute Cluster on ThinkSystem, and SUSE Virtualization on ThinkSystem V4. The goal is to spare IT teams the usual DIY integration work. You use AI every day. Now get your AI Quotient. Take the AIQ test.

Srinivas Rao, Managing Director, ISG, Lenovo India, noted that the country’s data centre capacity is expected to more than quadruple by 2030.

“The challenge is no longer intent, but integrating legacy applications, getting data ready and modernizing without disrupting day-to-day operations,” he said. The push is aimed at Indian businesses stuck between AI pilots and full rollouts. The VX850 V4 is built for heavily virtualised environments and demanding in-memory workloads, with support for both structured and unstructured data.

The company sees it as a way to consolidate critical applications today while leaving room for AI tasks later.
