Chiding the three justices he nominated for the bench – Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett – as not “the people I interviewed to serve” but “merely a shell of their original selves,” he hailed two conservative dissenting judges – Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito – as “legends. “The Court’s inability and unwillingness to do the right thing for our Country will go down, in a very negative way, in the annals of History,” wrote Trump suggesting his criticism of the top court “will likely cost me dearly for years to come. Meanwhile, as a Washington judge blocked another attempt to return Trump’s name to the iconic Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, he reportedly threw a “tantrum” forcing his handpicked board to vote for closing the building for a two-year renovation. And as Trump was photographed looking at a printout of the center titled “Kennedy Center DEMOLIS…,” on Air Force One, a judge ordered the center’s board not to bring the building down without giving 30 days’ notice of construction plans. Thousands also gathered for a “Hands Around the Kennedy Center” protest against its closure organized by ‘Hands Off the Arts. Trump’s name was affixed to the exterior of the building, using bolted-on lettering in December after the administration took it over by “blunt force, backed up by law enforcement officers from three separate local and federal agencies,” as a judge described it, during Elon Musk’s cost cutting DOGE days. And even as National Park Service officials acknowledged that Trump’s desired 250-foot triumphal arch in the nation’s capital will likely contribute “to adverse effects to historic properties,” they suggested the project must proceed nevertheless. “Such adverse effects cannot be fully avoided while retaining the location-dependent purpose of the undertaking,” the National Park Service wrote in its planning document cited by the Washington Post. Trump capped the week by “proudly” announcing a ban on CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House over what he called their “constant ‘reporting’ FAKE NEWS. Media outlets “shouldn’t be able to constantly write or report FICTION and LIES when they’re covering the President of the United States,” he wrote on Truth Social and claimed that the U.S. government paid “an illegal and ridiculous $8 Million Dollar subscription” to Politico. Telling reporters the new policy was the result of “cumulative stories over the last few years,” Trump said he will announce bans of “Other Fake News Media Outlets” soon in the latest escalation of his longtime media feud.

Some wore costumes and booed when Trump’s name was mentioned. Meanwhile, in a continuing war over the United States Institute of Peace (USIP), an independent think tank created by the Congress, some of its board members went to court to prevent the administration from carving “Trump’s name into the façade of the iconic USIP headquarters building. That change already offended the USIP board members who filed the suit, but carving Trump’s name into the stone, they argued “would cause irreparable harm. “Like our Nation, under the Dumocrats, was in decline, the White House was a badly maintained ‘dump. Now, it is a Palace!” he boasted. Meanwhile, as ordered by Trump in July, the administration is moving forward with plans to put signs outside the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History warning visitors of what the White House calls ideological bias at the museum.
