He scored 1,590 on the SAT at 10 and received his high school diploma at 11. The SAT has a maximum score of 1,600, placing his reported result 10 points below the highest possible score. Petraro-Hyppolite told CBS News New York that he had been accepted into a master’s programme at New York University and planned to begin in 2027. He is expected to complete his undergraduate degree in May 2027 before starting postgraduate studies at NYU.
He said his master’s would be in sports management and also mentioned kinesiology and biology. Petraro-Hyppolite achieved several academic milestones at an unusually young age. He later attended Louisiana State University and continued working towards his undergraduate degree alongside considerably older students. His academic progress has allowed him to pursue university education during his early teens.
His mother recalls his earlier educational experience
Because he had previously been placed in special education classes after being diagnosed with Tourette syndrome, his mother, Anne Petraro-Hyppolite, said her son’s progress was particularly meaningful.
Speaking about her son’s achievements, she said, “It’s just surreal. The condition is a neurological disorder associated with motor and vocal tics. When he graduated high school so young, it was surreal, but this is . .. everything he does is surreal. He just loves to learn. He is like a sponge.”

His planned master’s programme will focus on sports management, while kinesiology and biology are among his other academic interests. Alongside his education, he volunteers at a nursing home and hopes to become a palaeontologist.
