In January 2025, the This Is Us actor and his wife, Jarah Mariano, lost both properties in the fires. At the time, Mariano was 38 weeks pregnant with their first child. Speaking to Us Weekly in an interview published on November 2, Ventimiglia said the family had settled into a new home. The actor, now 49, said he, his wife and their two young children were doing well.
Because each one brought back a particular memory, he began writing down those objects. Mariano said that the family had lost their home and everything they owned, but she was grateful that they were together, safe and healthy.
He described their present home and surroundings as wonderful and said they were now close to family and friends. We’re in a wonderful home, in a wonderful place, around some good family and friends,” he said. He said that looking at his wife, children and new home made him consider how their lives might have taken a different direction if the fires had not happened. Asked about the best part of being a father, he said watching the children discover things for the first time was particularly special.
Actor Milo Ventimiglia has shared an update on his family’s life nearly two years after the Los Angeles wildfires destroyed their home and another house they were preparing to move into. “It’s good. The kids have no idea what happened. Wife and I are good. We’re settled. She also thanked the people who had supported them during the difficult period. He recalled an unusual habit that began immediately after the fires. Every one or two minutes, he would suddenly remember an object that had been part of his life. Ventimiglia also spoke about life with his wife and their two young children.
