In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Patrex described a dog attack that left one of his friends needing urgent care for severe bite wounds. San Francisco is still home, and we are relocating to a neighborhood where people can walk to lunch without fearing for their physical safety.” Patrex said he and a friend were bitten in separate incidents on the same street within days of each other. “Two weeks ago I was walking down Sixth Street, and there was a bulldog I didn’t see that came out of a wheelchair — it rushed at me and bit my leg,” Patrex told the New York Post. “The week after, my friend was walking through the same street and was bit … it was a very bad wound, he was rushed to the hospital,” he added. “There have been a lot of dog cases in the area.” Patrex attached videos from local X creator JJ Smith showing street conditions around his office. He also described an incident in which engineer friends waiting for ice cream fled after a man pulled down a road sign and tried to strike bystanders. “They ran — everyone carries pepper spray,” Patrex said. KRON4 reported that city data recorded 74 dog attacks in the Tenderloin neighbourhood between January and September. However, he said he and his colleagues needed to be “safe.” “That sucks too,” he said.
