Sabroom Land Port Set for Early 2024 Opening
India’s Land Ports Authority (LPAI) is advancing plans to open the Sabroom land port in Tripura by early 2024. This new port will establish a connection with Bangladesh’s Chittagong port, aiming to ease northeast India’s dependence on the more remote Haldia port.
Despite ongoing political instability in Bangladesh that has caused delays, the LPAI remains optimistic about the project’s potential to enhance trade and tourism in the region.
