Candidates have to be in the 3rd year of B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc. (Engineering) or the 3rd or 4th year of an Integrated M.E./M.Tech. program, or in the 1st year of an ME/M.Tech/M.Sc./M.A or MBA program. Applicants should have an exceptional academic record, with a focus on high ranks in university examinations. Additionally, they are encouraged to highlight their achievements, such as papers presented at seminars, projects completed, participation in design contests, and rankings in Mathematics Olympiads, along with any other awards or distinctions received.
Their ranking should be among the top 10% of students in all previous academic years within your discipline at your College/University/Institute. Rank among the top 20% based on CGPA/% score in all previous years within their discipline at their College/Institution/University. Candidates should be enrolled in the second year of a Master’s programme or the third/fourth year of a Bachelor’s programme. The field of study should align with the project requirements specified by IIT Bombay Faculty (Internship Guide). A certificate from the Principal (in the prescribed format) verifying this achievement must be submitted during the application process. Candidates should have full-time student status at the time of application and throughout the duration of the internship. Students should be able to commit to full-time work for the duration of the internship. Part-time internships are not permitted. They must submit a certificate confirming that there are no coursework requirements during the internship period at the time of application. This ranking must be certified by the Head of the Institute/Principal at the time of application. IIT Delhi offers the prestigious Summer Research Fellowship Programme, providing outstanding undergraduate students with the chance to undertake innovative research and development projects under the guidance of IIT Delhi faculty. Eligible applicants are students from various engineering institutes in India or abroad, excluding IITs, who rank within the top ten in their respective programs/branches. Students from IITs are not eligible to apply. Undergraduate students, excluding those from IITs, who have completed at least two years of study in an engineering degree program and rank within the top ten in their respective programs, are eligible to apply for this fellowship.
If their academic calendar requires them to submit a partial project report before the completion of the internship (e.g., in April for an internship ending in June), they must obtain prior consent from the Internship Guide.
