Questions are being raised on reversal of mass transfer order amid allegations of irregularities at Haveri ZP office
Haveri: A decision by Haveri zilla panchayat CEO Daljit Kumar to revoke the mass transfer of 48 contract employees working under the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Livelihood Mission (Rural) has triggered controversy and public outrage in the district. 16, Kumar withdrew the transfer order and granted administrative approval for the employees to continue in their existing postings. Defending the decision, CEO Daljit Kumar said the order was revised based on requests received from executive officers and the need for administrative continuity in the scheme. Allegations have also been raised that the decision was influenced by political pressure and backdoor financial dealings involving lakhs of rupees. Critics argue that cancelling the transfers could undermine transparency in rural development projects and encourage corruption. They have urged higher authorities to revoke the latest order, conduct an inquiry and take strict action against any employees found guilty of wrongdoing. Farmer activist MN Naik alleged that political pressure and financial transactions were behind the cancellation order. “I have already lodged a complaint with Karnataka Lokayukta Justice BS Patil.
