Kanpur: Samajwadi Party national general secretary Shivpal Yadav on Thursday accused the BJP govt of corruption and urged party workers to unite for the upcoming assembly election.
He said farmers, poor people, youths and women were troubled, while govt work from the block to tehsil level required bribes. Yadav said farmers were being forced to stand in long queues for fertiliser. Alleging wrongdoing in donations collected for Ram Mandir, Yadav said money contributed by the public had been stolen. On ticket distribution for the assembly election, he said SP national president Akhilesh Yadav would select candidates after consulting everyone.
Addressing a felicitation ceremony at the residence of SP district secretary Himmat Singh Yadav in Udanapur in Derapur in Kanpur Dehat, he alleged that corruption, inflation and unemployment were at their peak under BJP rule. Electricity tariffs were being increased and people were being harassed through raids, he alleged. He claimed electricity department officers and engineers could not act arbitrarily in this manner during SP govt’s tenure. He asked workers to work unitedly to ensure the victory of every candidate chosen by the party.
