New Delhi: As many as 83 people, including 43 women, were detained after Rajasthan Police, with assistance from Delhi Police , raided a call centre operating from a residential building in southwest Delhi’s Uttam Nagar Saturday in connection with a cyber fraud case registered in Rajasthan.
DCP (dwarka) Kushal Pal Singh said, “Based on a complaint by the bank’s branch manager, Rajasthan Police registered an FIR at Cyber Police Station, Deeg, on Aug 28.
The employees received customer data from their contractual company and contacted customers to sell credit cards, according to police. Police said the SIM cards used by the callers were registered in their own names and were not found to be fake. During the investigation, police arrested an accused from Azamgarh and traced the suspected premises in Uttam Nagar. If a customer agreed, the card was allegedly issued through the official credit card website.
