“The survey report would soon be submitted to the state govt and land acquisition would begin after the formal completion of the alignment process,” he said. Download the TOI App.
The 56-km stretch through Bijnor is expected to improve the district’s connectivity with Uttarakhand, Haryana and several districts of eastern UP. The project includes 131 villages in Bijnor district. Of these, 52 villages are in Dhampur, 32 in Bijnor and 16 in Najibabad, with the remaining 31 villages falling in other areas along the proposed alignment.
The expressway will enter Bijnor from Muzaffarnagar district at Ramjiwala and leave the district towards Moradabad near Seohara. The proposed Ganga bridge at Ramjiwala will be a key part of the route. The survey involves verification of revenue records, land holdings and plot numbers, besides identification of govt land and parcels involving rivers, drains and tubewells. Among the villages included in the proposed alignment are Mustafabad, Murshadpur, Gidauri, Mehralipur, Rasulpur Sadar, Akheda, Balapur, Muzaffarpur, Shikohpur, Padli Mandu, Umri, Salawa, Jagupura, Manpur, Shivpuri, Dindarpur, Gurudaspur Hira, Lambakheda, Qasampur, Kajipura, Budhanpur and Rampur Kishna. Other villages include Bahadurpur Jat, Sattongali, Daulatabad, Saidpura, Alampur, Sherpur Kamal, Budhpur Nainsingh, Aurangapur Hriday, Alampur Asu, Islampur Bega, Shahdipur, Govindpur, Islampur Lalu, Bakar Nangla, Shahpur Saidu, Faridpur Dallu, Dhanaura, Faridpur Dulha, Mubarakpur, Pahadpur, Dwarka, Rustampur, Sherpur, Begrajpur, Fatehpur Bhoru and Harpur, among others.
