Taking cognisance of the video, Delhi Police said an inquiry had already been conducted and identified the personnel involved. Further departmental action for misconduct is being initiated by DTC., Deputy Commissioner of Police (PCR) in a post on X said. The Delhi Police said it does not tolerate misconduct and that appropriate action would be taken against those found responsible. The DTC driver has also been attached to the Lines, with the transport corporation initiating further departmental proceedings for alleged misconduct, police said.
NEW DELHI A video showing a Delhi Police head constable and a Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) driver allegedly drinking liquor inside a Police Control Room (PCR) vehicle has gone viral on social media, prompting departmental action against both personnel. “Taking cognizance of the viral video, an enquiry into the alleged incident has already been conducted. The erring staff, including a Delhi Police Head Constable and a DTC driver, have been identified. The Head Constable has been placed under suspension, while the DTC driver has been attached to the Lines. “Delhi Police does not endorse or tolerate any form of misconduct. The video has triggered discussion on the conduct expected from personnel deployed in PCR vehicles, which are used to respond to emergency calls and maintain public safety.
