The petitioner, Sarvarkhan Pathan, has urged the court to direct AMC and Auda officials to conduct a comprehensive survey of footpaths, identify and demarcate them properly, and remove encroachments to ensure pedestrian safety. Filed through advocate Dharmesh Gurjar, the PIL cites a footpath near Pathan’s residence in Salatwada in the Shahpur area of the Walled City. Pathan has sought directions for the removal of these structures. The petition also states that most footpaths in Ahmedabad are being illegally used for parking and commercial activities.
