Mahalaxmi temple in Kolhapur
Kolhapur : District collector Vijay Rathod has assured traders and business owners from Mahadwar Road, Bhawani Mandap and other areas around Mahalaxmi temple that any further decisions on land acquisition under the temple’s development plan will be taken only after consultation and coordination with them. During a meeting with the Mahalaxmi Temple Area Traders and Residents Association, Rathod was urged to ensure transparent implementation of the plan by taking local residents and business owners into confidence. The participants also raised concerns about rehabilitation in the event of land acquisition, demanding that affected parties be rehabilitated within the temple premises itself.
Rathod said, “Land acquisition is the first priority and the administration will give priority to providing land for those whose businesses have been affected. The affected people will be given proper compensation for land and their demands will be examined and a positive solution will be found, according to govt norms.
