Gundam Rogue Orbit gets March 2027 release date
This included new GTA 6-themed DualSense controllers, a new look at Marvel’s Wolverine, the release date for Final Fantasy VII Revelation, and an expansion for Ghost of Yotei. Sony also announced Maneater 2, showed gameplay from Metro 2039 and revealed new details about Until Dawn 2. The presentation was followed by a separate State of Play Japan broadcast, which included new footage of Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance and several other games. Sony announced two limited-edition DualSense wireless controllers inspired by Grand Theft Auto VI: a black model and a white model. Both controllers are scheduled to launch on November 19 for $84.99, ¥12,480, €84.99 or £74.99. Pre-orders open on September 10 at 10 a.m. local time. Square Enix showed around 10 minutes of new gameplay from Final Fantasy VII Revelation, which will conclude the remake trilogy. The game is scheduled to launch on April 8, 2027. Sucker Punch showed Ghost of Yotei: Most Wanted, a single-player combat-survival roguelike mode that will be included with the Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition. The mode launches on October 1, 2026, alongside the Complete Edition for PlayStation 5. The footage also showed Jin Sakai, the protagonist of Ghost of Tsushima, as a playable character in Most Wanted. Firesprite showed a new trailer for Until Dawn 2. The game is scheduled to release on January 26, 2027, for PlayStation 5. The trailer focused on the game’s characters and horror sequences. Sony showed another look at Marvel’s Wolverine, which is scheduled to launch this month exclusively on PS5. The footage featured Wolverine fighting Trask’s Sentinels and included co-op gameplay with Sabretooth. It ended with the characters facing a large Sentinel while pursuing Trask. 4A Games showed gameplay from Metro 2039 running on PS5 Pro and confirmed a February 4, 2027 release date. The footage showed the protagonist moving through a detailed, atmospheric environment before encountering human enemies. The DLC is scheduled to release on October 15, 2026. Tripwire Interactive announced Maneater 2, a sequel to the 2020 shark action game. The game is currently scheduled for release in 2027. Gran Turismo 7 creator Kazunori Yamauchi appeared during the presentation to announce the Spec IV Update. The update is planned to roll out in two parts, with releases scheduled for October and December 2026. Housemarque announced Zenith, a free update for Saros. The presentation did not provide further details about the update in the material provided. The PlayStation Plus Classics Catalog will add Mega Man X: Command Mission, Dino Crisis 2 and the original Ratchet & Clank during the remainder of 2026. Mycopunk from Pigeons at Play is also coming to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog. Sony introduced three indie titles coming to PlayStation: Hunter’s Moon, Uncanyon from Annapurna and Keeper from Double Fine. Keeper is available on PS5 after Double Fine became independent of Microsoft. Gundam Rogue Orbit received a new trailer and a confirmed release date of March 5, 2027. The game was also shown during State of Play Japan, where additional footage focused on its customisation options. Square Enix announced a demo for Final Fantasy Resonance, which is available alongside the State of Play announcement. The full game is scheduled to launch in October. Sony confirmed the previously leaked LEGO PlayStation set, showing a nearly 1:1-scale reproduction of the original 1994 PlayStation. The set contains 1,911 pieces and is scheduled to launch later this year. The State of Play opened with a new clip from director Zach Cregger’s upcoming Resident Evil movie. The footage showed a sequence in which zombies fall from rooftops while Austin Abrams’ character runs through the street. The film is scheduled to arrive in theatres on September 18, 2026. The separate State of Play Japan presentation included additional announcements and gameplay footage. The Ghost of Yotei story expansion Echoes of Sekigahara is scheduled to launch on October 1, 2026, as part of the Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 was announced for 2027, with the presentation including its first trailer. Capcom provided more information on the upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds expansion Ascendance, including a look at new monsters and the new Elder Dragon Gundoraga. Konami showed an extended look at Rhapsody in Scarlet, an action game set in 1920s New York. The game is scheduled for 2027. PlayStation’s China Hero Project introduced Daba: Land of Water Scar, a soulslike action game about a humanoid-looking puppet exploring an ancient city. Conq: Crown of No Quarter, a dark fantasy tactical action game, was announced for 2027. Streetlamp Studio’s cyberpunk side-scrolling action roguelike SlashZero is scheduled to launch in spring 2027. A demo featuring more than 10 hours of gameplay was also announced. GPTRACK50’s zombie action game Stupid Never Dies received a demo covering its first two hours, with save data transferable to the full game. Cygames announced a smaller development initiative called CygamesEdge and introduced its first game, Where the Seeds Fall. The action-adventure game focuses on vertical movement, with players attempting to reach the ground from a great height. It is scheduled for November 5, 2026. Sloclap announced a Rematch collaboration with the football anime Blue Lock. The crossover begins on September 24 and includes characters such as Yoichi Isagi, Meguru Bachira, Seishiro Nagi and Rin Itoshi. Fate/Extra Record is coming to PS5 and PS4 on January 28, 2027. The Eminence in Shadow: Phantom Echoes received its first trailer during State of Play Japan. Square Enix showed new footage of Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World, including a look at one of its villains. Several previously discussed PlayStation projects did not appear during the presentation, an IGN report claims.
A storm also features in the sequence shown during the presentation. Pearl Abyss announced Chartering the Unknown, downloadable content for Crimson Desert. The trailer showed new content and systems, including what appeared to be base-building and underwater exploration. Sony ‘s September State of Play brought announcements and updates for several PlayStation games and gaming accessories. The game follows a mage named Ellie who uses magic as part of her combat combos, alongside Beast abilities. Konami also showed more of Rev. Noir, including footage running on PS5 Pro. These included Sony Santa Monica’s God of War Laufey, Naughty Dog’s Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, Media Molecule’s next project, Sony Bend’s game and Haven Studios’ Fairgame.
