Corie Walsh, 38, faces three counts of first-degree murder after her son Barrett, who was also known as “Bear”, was found hanging in the basement of the family home, FOX 32 reported.
After more than 30 hours of deliberations over nearly seven days, the jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict, and on Friday, the judge declared a mistrial. The case has drawn attention to Walsh’s conversations about Clancy, a Massachusetts mother and nurse whose trial was underway when Barrett died. Clancy was accused of killing her three children before attempting suicide and argued that she had been suffering from postpartum psychosis.
