Nashik : District Guardian minister Girish Mahajan on Wednesday urged the youth to become “green ambassadors” and spread awareness about tree conservation. cleanliness and sustainable living across society. Environmental conservation can succeed only when it becomes a people’s movement,” Mahajan said. Mahajan said collective efforts to protect the environment should further strengthen Nashik’s identity as a religious, cultural, and nature-rich city.
“Every student should plant at least one tree and ensure its survival through regular care. Saplings were distributed to students, who also took pledges for tree conservation. As preparations for Kumbh Mela gather pace, Mahajan appealed to youngsters to volunteer to keep Nashik clean, green, safe, and plastic-free. He also urged students to actively participate in the conservation of Godavari river, cleanliness drives and tree preservation initiatives. During the programme, Mahajan felicitated several people for their contributions to environmental conservation, wildlife protection, river rejuvenation and social service. He also interacted with students and answered questions on a range of issues.
