This specific lane was briefly opened for a couple of days recently but had to be closed again for pending work, according to the traffic police. Nashik : Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation (MSIDC) will open a temporary road from Dwarka to Kathe Signal in just over a week to reduce vehicular congestion on the roads around the Dwarka junction. This road will enable motorists using two-wheelers, three-wheelers, cars, and SUVs to head toward Nashik Road directly from the Dwarka junction, bypassing the heavily congested surrounding lanes. Senior traffic police officials clarified that the upcoming road is strictly a temporary arrangement designed for light vehicles. Dwarka junction is currently undergoing major construction for a grade separator. Once complete, this separator will allow traffic moving between the Nashik Road side and Nashik city to flow freely without interfering with vehicles heading toward Dhule or Mumbai. As the busiest intersection on Mumbai–Agra highway, its closure forced traffic onto diversion routes, leaving them chaotic throughout the day and late into the night. A couple of weeks ago, MSIDC reopened Dwarka junction for straight-line traffic heading toward Mumbai and Dhule. To ease congestion further, a four-meter-wide temporary lane from Dwarka junction to Kathe Galli will now be opened. However, MSIDC officials have assured that it will be fully operational within a week. Efforts are also underway to open a similar temporary lane from Dwarka to the Sarda Circle for light vehicles.
