An open inquiry found that his expenditure exceeded his legal income by more than Rs 55 lakh, senior vigilance officials said. Agra : Vigilance officials have filed an FIR against Naveen Kumar , former Nayab Tehsildar of Sirsaganj tehsil in Firozabad, for allegedly possessing disproportionate assets.
The FIR was registered on Thursday under Sections 13(1)(b) and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 at the Vigilance Establishment’s Agra sector police station. It stated that Kumar did not furnish a satisfactory explanation regarding the disproportionate expenditure and acquisition of assets, and found him prima facie liable for an offence under Section 13(1)(b). An open inquiry against Kumar was ordered on July 22, 2024, after allegations related to his assets, according to the FIR. The FIR came more than two years after Kumar was suspended along with other officials by the govt in July 2024 for allegedly abusing their position to acquire land in collaboration with revenue officers, thereby breaching Government Servant Conduct Rules.
