The City crime branch arrested three from Madhya Pradesh who had come to supply drugs in the city
Police allegedly recovered 939.81g of mephedrone worth around Rs 4.2 crore. Police have obtained their 10-day remand to trace the intended recipient and identify others linked to the supply network. In another operation, personnel of LCB Zone-6 and Kagadapith police arrested Adilkhan Mewati (40) from a parking lot behind Parekh Tower in Raipur. Acting on specific information, police allegedly recovered 92.6g of mephedrone worth Rs 2.8 lakh, along with a mobile phone and cash. In the third case, the anti-narcotics team of Bodakdev police arrested Abzal Vora (38) from the Bodakdev area. Police allegedly seized 1.5kg of ganja valued at Rs 75,200, along with a mobile phone and an autorickshaw.
The accused allegedly told police that they had travelled from Mandsaur to Ahmedabad on the instructions of a person identified as Imran Pathan to deliver the consignment. Police said efforts are underway to trace the wider supplier network and identify others involved in the illegal trafficking and distribution of drugs in Ahmedabad. Ahmedabad : In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Ahmedabad police seized mephedrone and ganja in three separate operations and arrested five persons, including three alleged interstate drug couriers from Madhya Pradesh. Three residents of Madhya Pradesh, identified as Aslam Mansuri, Imran Mansuri and Shehzad Mansuri, were arrested. Investigators are examining the source of the contraband and the identity of the intended recipient.
In the first operation, the Ahmedabad Crime Branch intercepted a car at Hanspura Crossroads in Naroda on Friday.
