Drone search fails to find animal after fatal attack on woman in Hardoi

In response to the tragic death of an elderly woman in a suspected wild animal attack, the Hardoi forest department initiated a comprehensive search operation. This effort spanned a 5-7 km area around Bhikhpur Aima village, located within the jurisdiction of the Atarouli police station in Hardoi district. The operation included nearly six hours of drone surveillance to assist in locating any potential threats or evidence related to the incident.

Lucknow: Hardoi forest department teams on Saturday conducted an extensive search operation across a 5-7 km area and kept a drone surveillance operation running for nearly six hours after an elderly woman was killed in a suspected wild animal attack in Bhikhpur Aima village under Atarouli police station area of Hardoi district on Friday. The incident came to light around 4 am when they woke up after hearing the barking of dogs, according to family members. The victim was attacked while sleeping outside her son’s under-construction house. They found the woman lying in a pool of blood with deep wounds on her neck and scratch or bite marks on her face.

Footprints Indicate Canine Presence in Investigation

Divisional Forest Officer Shinde Jayant Bhimrao confirmed that recent footprints found in the area belong to an animal from the canine family. This family includes species such as jackals, wolves, and foxes. The identification of these footprints is significant as it may impact ongoing investigations related to wildlife and environmental safety.
