NEW DELHI: Heavy rain is likely in several parts of the country on Tuesday, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Konkan and Goa, Gujarat region and Saurashtra and Kutch.

The IMD has forecast fairly widespread to widespread rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning over Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi and Punjab from September 16-17. Heavy rain likely in Odisha Odisha is likely to receive isolated heavy rainfall on Tuesday, with heavy rain expected to continue through September 17. Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim are likely to receive fairly widespread to widespread rainfall. In the Northeast, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall is likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
