Over the last few months, the star player has been dealing with concerns on his fitness and accusations of being “slow” on the field. The BWT Alpine Formula One Team is currently owned by a split partnership between the French automotive giant Renault Group and an American led investor consortium. A few weeks ago, in an interview with The Race, Renault Group’s CEO weighed in on it as he explained, “We manage the team. Otro has no right, and no added value, to help us to operate. So we are fully responsible. I think we are capable to assess together this. They want to sell, they will get the good benefits. Until September, Renault can veto Otro Capital’s sale of its shares to anyone it deems unsuitable. “For me, there is no urgency. There are two principles. The first one is Renault will keep the control. We do not intend to sell shares…” No decision has been made yet as a speculated deal with Mercedes reportedly seeking to buy Otro Capital’s stake has fallen through. However, neither Travis Kelce nor the Otro Capital has issued any statement over this drama as the star tight end has kept his focus strictly on the field. But Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs’ head coach Andy Reid have reassured fans that the tight end is fully ready to get back to the field.
