Agra: Samajwadi Party Rajya Sabha MP Ramjilal Suman, along with hundreds of party workers, staged a dharna at Shikohabad police station in Firozabad district on Tuesday, demanding criminal charges against police personnel following the death of a young woman shortly after childbirth a day earlier.

What were the police doing in their house? Heavy police forces have been deployed around the station. The ASP has assured the protesters that further disciplinary and legal steps will be taken following a formal probe within three days.

Local police arrived at the couple’s home on Sunday night to detain her husband, Gaurav, according to relatives. She delivered a baby boy at a hospital on Monday morning before being declared dead at a private facility.
