Kolkata: Bengal has achieved 100% field work completion for the first phase of the census well within the deadline of Sept 14, CM Suvendu Adhikari claimed on Wednesday.
Adhikari further posted that over 3.68 crore census houses (3,68,30,150) have been successfully enumerated against the projected 3.69 crore, setting an operational benchmark of nearly 99.7% of all expected households. “This massive exercise would not have been possible without our real heroes on the ground. I extend my heartfelt gratitude and highest appreciation to our grassroots enumerators and supervisors, thousands of field workers who walked miles in every weather condition, reaching every household across hills, plains and riverine belts,” he posted. The CM shared district-wise figures for the total number of census houses enumerated along with separate data for municipal areas of Siliguri, Asansol, Durgapur, Bidhannagar, Chandannagar, Howrah and Kolkata.
