SALEM: Traffic was disrupted after a boulder fell on the Yercaud Ghat Road during rain on Wednesday night.
The boulder fell on the 40 Feet Bridge-60 Feet Bridge stretch of the road around 11pm, forcing authorities to restrict traffic to a single lane. Vehicles were allowed to pass cautiously. Highway department personnel deployed an earthmover to remove the obstruction. After nearly an hour of strenuous effort, the rock was removed, restoring normal traffic flow.

The rock was massive, but our team managed to clear it within an hour,” said a senior highways official. “We had to act quickly to ensure safety.
