Rohan Parikh
Mumbai: Rohan Parikh (24), arrested for allegedly posing as a PMO official and trying to enter a restricted area by flashing a fake ID card, has filed a bail application before the 37th Metropolitan Magistrate Court, claiming his continued detention is unwarranted. Parikh was arrested on Sept 5 and later remanded to judicial custody. The plea states that the police have already seized his mobile phones, laptop and other documents and therefore no further recovery is required from him.
Arguing for his bail, senior lawyer Satish Maneshinde argued that Parikh has no criminal antecedents and the FIR and remand applications do not attribute any malicious intention or specific overt act to him. Maneshinde also argued that while the police have alleged that he created certain documents, there is no allegation that the documents were used for any unlawful purpose. The defence has also cited his medical condition, stating that he suffered a slipped-disc injury and has restricted movement.
