School edu dept to hold statewide parent-teacher meet on Sept 19: The wider industry impact

Hyderabad: The Telangana school education department and Samagra Shiksha will conduct a statewide monthly parent-teacher meeting (PTM) on Sept 19 across all govt schools, local body schools, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) and Telangana Model Schools in every mandal and district.

This month’s PTM theme is “Partnering with Parents, Powering Every Child’s Learning.”, according to a release issued on Thursday.

Headmasters have been directed to send formal written invitations to parents through students, with a target of ensuring 100% participation. Headmasters and teachers will conduct class-wise reviews with parents to discuss students’ academic performance, foundational learning and areas requiring additional academic support. They will also address issues such as absenteeism and efforts to sustain enrolment. Parents will also be encouraged to participate in school development activities, campus upkeep and other educational initiatives. Schools have also been instructed to schedule the meetings at timings convenient for parents, taking into consideration seasonal agricultural work in rural areas and daily wage and service-sector employment in urban areas. State, district and mandal-level officials, including mandal education officers (MEOs) and regional joint directors, will attend and monitor the meetings. Download the TOI App.
