Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Shivajinagar police have booked a DJ operator for allegedly playing loud music without permission during Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange’s rally in Beed on Sept 15. Around 8.10pm, personnel spotted a vehicle carrying a DJ sound system on the western side of the chowk, according to the FIR. More than 100 people had gathered around it and were dancing, police said.
Police said the DJ was operated without permission from the competent authority and in violation of prohibitory orders issued by the additional district magistrate. “However, he failed to produce any valid permission,” police said. Police also cited violation of noise pollution norms. The vehicle was allegedly playing music at high volume. Thosare asked Daigade to produce documents showing permission from the competent authority to operate the sound system.
The FIR was registered late on Friday night, three days after the alleged violation.
