Chikkamagaluru : Kudremukh National Park Punarvasati Horata Samiti members demanded that the state govt provide scientific compensation to the families living inside the park area. The committee members submitted their plaints at a meeting at Kerekatte in Sringeri taluk under the presidentship of committee president Kolegadde Pradeep.
The meeting demanded a scientific rehabilitation package suitable for 2026 and proper valuation of houses within the national park limits. Only Rs 2 lakh per acre is being given as compensation for revenue land. At least Rs 50 lakh per acre is needed to rebuild life,” they demanded.
Members pointed out that funds have not been released for files cleared in the earlier meeting chaired by the deputy commissioner.
