Travis Kelce’s Future in Broadcasting
Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, is weighing his options as he approaches the end of his NFL career. Although he has not confirmed plans to retire after the 2026 season, speculation about his post-football career has intensified. ESPN’s Troy Aikman suggests Kelce could have numerous broadcasting opportunities available when he decides to transition to television.
Kelce is currently in his 14th NFL season, returning to the Chiefs after contemplating retirement last year. His contract is a one-year deal valued at $12 million, but his marketability beyond the field is growing.
Aikman noted, “It sounds like he wants to do television. I can’t imagine that he won’t.” This follows the path of his brother, Jason Kelce, who recently signed a three-year, $24 million broadcasting contract with ESPN after retiring from the NFL.
Through two games this season, Kelce has recorded 12 receptions for 172 yards and a touchdown.
After speaking with Kelce before Kansas City’s season opener, the former Cowboys quarterback said he could see the veteran tight end becoming a major television personality. He has also set an NFL record for career yards after catch, adding another milestone to an already decorated career. Aikman recently discussed Kelce’s potential broadcasting future on the Sports Media with Richard Deitsch podcast.
